PRESS RELEASE – A Sitting of the House of Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2016 with Papers to be laid and Bills to be presented by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, Planning and Social Security, the Honourable Minister for Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, the Honourable Member for Agriculture, Food Production, Fisheries, Co-operatives and Rural Development and the Honourable Minister for Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations.

  1. Why does St Luciia need a clinical trials bill when it doesn't have a medical research unit? Does this mean that St Lucians will be used as guinea pigs by international pharmaceutical corporations?

  2. VAT again? Will SLP get a conscience and a moral compass to remove the disparity in taxation between the pauperizing VAT rate that is higher and a burden on consumers rather than that for all those fat cats in the hotel sector?

  3. Finally the Consumer Protection Bill is down for consideration. Inch must be happy with this development as we making progress on this Bill one inch at a time.
