Big Players FC annual fun walk

(PRESS RELEASE) – The Big Players Football Club’s Fourth Annual Fun Walk is scheduled for Sunday September 24th2017.

The walk will commence at 6:30am at the Marchand Grounds. People from the community, schools, sports clubs, and the general public are expected to participate in the fun walk.

The walk was started in 2014 as a means of encouraging people in the community to appreciate and embrace sports, exercise and fitness as a way of life.

The route for the walk will be the same as previous year’s i.e.  starting at  Marchand, through Bocage, Tiroche, Trois Piton, Old Victoria Road Pavee, Rock Hall and Back to Marchand.  Sensei Oliver Lawrence will conduct the pre walk briefing and the warm down exercise after the walk.

The walk is a challenging, interesting and enjoyable one in that participants will enjoy the fresh morning breeze and the breathtaking views while walking through Bocage Tiroche Trois Piton and Old Victoria road.

The Marchand Health Centre and the Ministry of Health will conduct the Health Fair after the walk. The health fair will feature dissemination of Information; blood sugar, blood pressure, HIV and eye tests and counselling. The health fair has been a very well supported component of the fun walk with many people taking the opportunity to conduct their personal health checks

Registration will be done on Saturday September   16th,   Saturday 23rd  and Sunday 24th immediately before the walk.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st. 2nd. and 3rd. place winners,  youngest male , youngest female oldest male and oldest female, gold silver and bronze  medals will be awarded to the first 30 finishers as well as sponsors products. Lots of fun games will be organised after the walk.

  1. Great article, lovely and positive. That is what we as black people need to share with each other. Too many negative stories, might be great for SNO pockets but detrimental to our race. Negativity breeds negativity. Is the editor a St.Lucian? If he or she is they don't love or respect their island.
