Belle Vue La Rose Group hosts coronation ceremony and a grand séance

PRESS RELEASE – The Belle Vue La Rose Group will be hosting a coronation ceremony and séance on Sunday the 17th of August, 2014.

This event will be held at Bra and Shirley’s Place in Belle Vue, Vieux-Fort from 3:00 pm.

During this activity a new king, prince and princess will be crowned; due to the retirement of the persons who previously held the positions.

Following the coronation exercise, the audience will be invited to participate in a grand séance.

A key feature of this séance will be the singing of many tempo La Rose songs by one of Saint Lucia’s most talented folk singers, Nelson ‘Ava’ Flood.

In light of the aforementioned activity, the Belle Vue La Rose Group invites all Saint Lucians to be a part of this event.

The group believes that this activity will serve as an excellent medium through which people can be educated on the intricacies and splendour of the La Rose festival.

Further, the group is of the view that the hosting of such event will help people develop a deeper appreciation for the traditional aspects of our Saint Lucian culture.

Also they believe that appreciating these traditional aspects of our culture is necessary to perpetuate national pride and love for country.

Such is the case since national pride is usually galvanized by the aspects of our culture that distinguish us form other cultures of the world.

  1. A seance, like seriously. Maybe i need to recheck the meaning of that to settle my mind. I like our culture but some aspects of it are so steeped in voodoo and other sinister practices. I think we can learn to appreciate the positive aspects though.
