PRESS RELEASE – The Siboulie Massacre Cultural Group from Dominica will be in St. Lucia from Friday July 10, 2015 to Thursday July 16, 2015.
The group is headed by Mr. Lynard Henderson and comprises 21 persons, 15 of which are children.
The members engage in dancing Belair and the musical accompaniment for these dances is the drums while the “chantwelle” leads the singing.
During their week-long stay, they will be hosted by the St. Lucian Folk group, Les Danseurs Traditionnels De Ste. Lucie.
A number of activities have been planned to strengthen ties between the two groups, one of which is a cultural exchange which is scheduled for Saturday July 11, 2015.
On Saturday July 11, 2015, the Siboulie Cultural Group will put on a 90-minute performance at the Castries Market starting at 9:15 a.m. Members of the public are invited to give them some support.
Other activities planned include a tour, a beach picnic and a games evening.
