PRESS RELEASE – Bank of Saint Lucia has been awarded the Best Corporate Citizen Awards for 2014 by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
The ECCB made the announcement at its headquarters in Saint Kitts at a special awards ceremony on 5 November. Bank of Saint Lucia competed against over a dozen ECCU commercial banks and received the coveted award. In addition, BOSL received four (4) individual awards in the areas of Educational Development, Cultural Development, Environmental Awareness and Customer Service.
These awards are an acknowledgement of BOSL’s continuing contributions to St. Lucia’s socio-economic development through a number of key support initiatives including signature programmes such as BOSL Mad About Math, the Rethink BOSL Recycle Challenge and Money Talks. The Bank made sound investments in education through its support of the National Schools’ Science & Technology Fair and annual support of the Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education (CARE) and Grow Well Inc. BOSL was also acknowledged for its sound support of the arts and culture including Creole Heritage Month, the National Arts Festival, St. Lucia Carnival, contributions to the School of Art & Design – St. Lucia (SADS) and to other local music, dance and arts academies.
For BOSL and parent company, ECFH, these awards represent a reaffirmation of their commitment to the socio economic development of St. Lucia with the support of its valued customers, shareholders and other partners.
The ECCB Corporate Citizen Awards were introduced in 1997 by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank to recognize banks which contribute to the development of the people and communities in which they operate through the implementation, support and participation in sound social responsibility projects. This represents the fifth win for BOSL as Best Corporate Citizen from inception to present with predecessor institution, National Commercial Bank of Saint Lucia winning the inaugural award in 1997.
