Bahamas Karate Association hosted successful referee course

(PRESS RELEASE) — The Referee course organized by the Bahamas Karate Association (BKA) and the USA Karate International (USAKI) on December 8th was a major success.

The program was in accordance with the rules of the World United Karate Organization ( WUKO). WUKO coordinator of referees, Darryl Williams was the facilitator.

For eight hours participants took part in theory and practice of the rules. Ages range from twenty-two to sixty years of age with a wide variety of skill and experience. On successful completion of all requirements, the following were awarded Level C Kumite and Kata licenses.

They are Winston Penn, Shawn Smith, Quon Whyte, Karen Andrews Demeritte, Elnathan Rolle, Marcus Rolle, John Wesley Francois. Julian Rolle and Brain Beckford were upgraded to WUKO National Referee. Role and Beckford took their first course in July 2013

We wish to thank Sensei Julian Rolle and BKA staff for all their work in making a successful event. All are looking forward to the next event.
