PRESS RELEASE – The Babonneau District Youth and Sports Council, recognizing the high potential of youth within its various communities, is seeking to develop an inclusive strategy for engaging young people, revitalizing its club structures and rebuilding a Network of stakeholders and youth organizations going forward into 2016.

In this regard, the council has planned an open community consultation this coming Wednesday, October 14th at the Babonneau Secondary School at 7:00pm.

All youth and youth organizations inclusive of religious organizations are invited to attend.

The purpose of this consultation is to discuss issues of youth development in the Babonneau District with the aim of informing a revitalization strategy for youth, clubs and interest groups in the various sub communities.

According to the structure recognized by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports as well as the St. Lucia National Youth Council, District Youth and Sports Councils have a responsibility for the coordination and facilitation of youth development programmes and activities across the island.

It is within this framework, that such a consultation will prove beneficial in enhancing the quality of implementation and representation of youth of our various communities.
