PRESS RELEASE – Axcel Finance this week launched a pre-kindergarten after-school programme for children in Anse La Raye.

The beneficiary institution is Kiddies Step Pre-School located on Peticeboug Street in Anse La Raye. The school is administered by Wilcina Gabriel, a veteran of 18 years in early childhood education.

A five-member team from Axcel Finance this week donated educational and creative material to Kiddies Step. They were greeted with songs and good cheer from the little ones.

This programme is a first of its kind for the school and the community. Eighteen students ages four to five to benefit from the Pre-K After School Programme which will provide kids with additional skills and enhance their knowledge as they move into kindergarten.

This programme is part of Axcel’s corporate social responsibility.

School administrator Wilcina Gabriel expressed her gratitude to Axcel Finance.

She said: “We are grateful to Axcel Finance for their generous donations in facilitating this After School Pre-K Programme. The parents of the children are also excited and grateful for this initiative.”

Louise Victor Axcel’s Assistant Marketing Manager, said: “Axcel is a people and community centred company. We believe in continued investment in our people, especially our youth and our children. This Pre-K Programme is a first for us. We want to play our part in moulding the next generation.

“This programme is our way of equipping them with the tools to give them a solid start to their education, which is the foundation for success later in their lives. We chose Anse La Raye because it is a community with several social challenges but tremendous talent and potential for growth. Axcel Finance will continue to support and promote such educational and holistic developmental initiatives, not just in St. Lucia, but also in other islands of the Eastern Caribbean where we operate.”

Axcel Finance has been in St. Lucia for two years with offices in Castries, Vieux-Fort, and Soufriere. The company has engaged in several people-centred initiatives which have and continue to make a difference in the lives of recipients.

Such initiatives include a Career Preparation Workshop for secondary and tertiary level students, an NGO Management Workshop, the Axcel Mentorship Programme, the launch of Axcel Angels as well as donations to schools, hospitals and community organisations in the Caribbean region.
