Seven mothers are vying to be chosen as an official ambassador for the Ave Maria Girls’ Infant School when the school hosts its third annual mothers’ pageant on Sunday, May 18.
Coordinator Frances Jn Baptiste told Saint Lucia News Online (SNO) today (May 17) that the mothers’ are all expected to show some level of creativity by using recycled materials.
Apart from that, they will also showcase their individual talents and will provide a speech on what they can do to improve the school.
The winner of the Miss Ave Maria Girls Infant title will serve as an ambassador to the school, whenever the need arises. The show will take place at the National Cultural Centre from 3 p.m.
The contestants for this year’s pageant consists of: Princess Jn Baptiste (Kindergarten), Kishina Vitalis (Grade Two), Melina St. Luce-Edmunds (Kindergarten), Junia Haynes (Grade Two), Emaline Hunte (Grade Two), Verna Alcide (Grade One) and Aniceta Justin (Grade One).
The pageant is also geared towards raising funds to assist with projects for the school. Tickets for the pageant cost $20 and are available for sale in Castries, just outside of Super J Supermarket on Boulevard. Entry at the gate costs $25.
