Attempted robbery outside business place in Vieux Fort

Police are investigating an attempted robbery outside Eden Feeds in Vieux Fort today, Saturday, Oct. 11.

Reports are that between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m., as the business was being closed for the day, a male and female – the owner’s children – were in a vehicle parked outside the business place when they noticed a masked man armed with a gun approaching the vehicle.

Police sources say the driver sped off after the gunman attempted to break the car glass with his firearm.

Shots were fired as the car drove off. No one was injured.

Police sources say the incident was witnessed by several customers.

A report was made at the Vieux Fort Police Station.

Eden Feeds is located near the Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited and Club Legacy.

  2. Real Life Scenario:
    1. Robber holds up person with at gunpoint and shouts, "Pass it!"
    2. Person only has $2.50 (bus money).
    3. The robber gets angry and shoots the person out of spite.

All this to say that when you're dealing with wicked people logic is at the bottom of their list. It may just be that the guy got angry because they got away before he robbed them...

  3. I think its time we crack down on these criminals. Sorry but the police have limited vision and can be everywhere at all times. So I believe we as citizens for our country to do better, we need to step as well. Not saying to put our lives on the line but step up and show this is our country.

  4. Eden feeds to my knowledge had some issues with some farmers and the nutramix brand , many farmers lost loads of life stock from purchasing contaminated feed including myself . so far the manufacturer has only made it worst by offering a half bag of feed to each farmer to recuperate . robbery doesn't seem to be the sole purpose .

    • This explains why the vehicle was fired at. To avoid future mishaps like these, the courts is where such matters are settled but then again the process is so slow and the populace has reached a boiling point. Everyone should be aware and do what's right.

  6. St lucians need to act when these things happen. Don't be surprised that there was a licensed firearm owner there. The video need to b reviewed and if there was one he should have been stripped off it.
** secondly man u let him go and run him off with a vehicle. I wouldn't reach station. I would have parked in dome hole and running him over. I hate those people....

  7. *****Guess what I usually buy feed there and I am always armed. He was lucky I wasn't around cause I would spill his brain to hell. The other persons should have followed after he left and knock him down with their vehicle. It could have been an inside source or one of those very persons there that set up that robbery. They better don't just mess around cause they might just get killed. This is the south

  9. somehow the story doesn't let my mind believe this was a robbery...this was a hit...he shot at the vehicle while it was speeding off...only way i might agree it was a robbery attempt is if the vehicle was tinted to the extent that the perp couldn't see the interior of the vehicle...but still it looked like the perp wanted someone dead and not someone's bread

Maybe he went to check Kenny for a Job with nice or step or smiles but Kenny tell him he eh from the mangue or shanty town so no tax payer funded job 4 him. Maybe if he was a Kenny butt kisser and his father was buried in a 'I love Kenny' t shirt he wud b labour commissioner and not have to resort to robbing people to eat and take care of his family.

  14. I was on your beautiful island a few years ago and had been planning on taking early retirement to set up a business in Saint Lucia. The outrageous crime rate has caused me to reconsider this idea. St Lucia is paradise, but the crime needs to be cleaned up. If unemployment is to be improved, investment will be necessary. As things stand, investment is being chased away.

  15. That is why in these hard economic times, we need to be vigilant, know our surroundings and keep a close eye on whats happening around us at all times. I hope these guys have CCTV.

  18. Wam, you are perfectly right!!
I know a couple Lucians who were getting tired of the cold to start a fair size business home. Once the crime wave began they scrapped the idea. I have a gut feeling that they might not be the only ones to get scared. These are jobs that went to sh*t.

  20. This is one of the biggest reasons putting off any sort of investment by small businesses. You just don't feel safe enough to try something without some bandit trying to teef it. They should put these fellas away for 15 years for armed robbery.

  21. This is unbelievable. I was at Eden Feeds about 12:15 and did not notice anything strange. That must have occurred shortly after I left.
