PRESS RELEASE – St Lucia’s first and only craft brewery, Antillia Brewing Company, won four medals at the prestigious 2015 Caribbean Rum & Beer Festival beer competition held November 6-7 on St Maarten.

Antillia won gold in the Ale Category for their refreshing Golden Ale and a second gold for their Organic Chocolate Stout. Antillia’s St. Lucian Passionfruit Wheat Ale and their traditional Irish Style Stout also won bronze medals in the stout/dark beer category.

“We are obviously very pleased with these awards and very proud of the team that work so hard every day to ensure the highest standards for craft brewing are met,” said Andrew Hashey, President, Antillia Brewing Company. “We wanted to set the standard for the islands in term of quality and local variety. These awards take us a long way towards achieving those goals.”

Antillia Brewing Company specializes in traditional, all natural ales. In addition to a lineup of traditional styles such as the Golden Ale, a wheat beer brewed for the Caribbean climate, Antillia brews a series of St Lucian Specialty beers using local, fresh agricultural products.

“We are blessed with local products that would make brewers in North America green with envy,” said Andrew Hashey “Our signature Chocolate Stout includes a generous addition of local fresh- roasted organic cocoa nibs and locally harvested passion fruit has produced the most complex, thirst-quenching and aromatic fruit beer that I have ever brewed and tasted,” stated Hashey.

Antillia Brewing Company opened in February 2015, with a vision of putting St. Lucia on the craft brewing map. Antillia operates a brewery and tap room and serves their signature style ales by glass, 1L growler and keg formats.

Antillia Brewing Company is located in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet. The brewery specialises in hand crafted traditional ales, brewed for the tastes and climate of the Caribbean. The brewery maintains a tap room and offers tours of the brewery and a tasting of their award winning ales and sells one litre bottles for take home consumption.

Antillia Ales are also available at such fine establishments such as Cap Maison Spa and Resort, Capella Marigot Bay, Carnival Sailing, Windjammer Landings, Bay Gardens Beach Resort, Royal St Lucian, and Boardwalk Café at IGY Marina.
