Second tropical wave expected tomorrow; NEMO urges public to exercise caution

PRESS RELEASE – According to the weather report issued by the St. Lucia Meteorological Services at 12 noon today, September 19, 2014, moisture and instability in the wake of a Tropical Wave is producing cloudiness, showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms over Saint Lucia and the rest of the Lesser Antilles.

A second Tropical Wave is also expected to affect the region from Saturday night as it moves westward.

In light of this, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) wishes to advise all residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides to excise extreme caution and to take all necessary actions to ensure safety.  Motorists are also asked to exercise due care while traversing the island’s wet roads.

NEMO takes this opportunity to urge all Saint Lucians to remain vigilant and to continue to monitor weather reports for further updates.
