St. Lucia recorded its 31st homicide on Saturday, Oct. 6 when a man was stabbed to death in Ti Chemin, Babonneau.
Police spokesperson Aniel Innocent told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) that the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. during an altercation.
Innocent said more details about the homicide will be released tomorrow. However, SNO understands that the name of the deceased is Kitson Hippolyte.
Saturday’s homicide comes less than five days after a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the neck in Corinth on Oct. 2 at about 6:54 p.m.
Head of Crime and Intelligence Frances Henry told reporters at a press briefing last week that Gros Islet police were called to the scene of the crime where they discovered Jude St. Omer’s body near the Winward Island Gases gap.
ACP Henry said a man was assisting police with their investigations.
