GIS – Newly appointed Ambassador of France to Saint Lucia, His Excellency Philipe Ardanaz, has stated that he hopes to build on the good relations and common history that the two islands share.
Ambassador Ardanaz presented his Letters of Credence to Saint Lucia’s Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy on Nov. 9.
He stated that Saint Lucia and France have together, made headway in many areas, among them climate change and crime, which has led to the Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement in Criminal Matters and an Extradition Agreement.
“With an innovative economy and leading industries, France is a land of entrepreneurs, but when I see the figures concerning exchanges of goods and investments between France and Saint Lucia, I strongly believe we can do better especially being such close neighbours,” he said. “I know many French firms are interested in investing in Saint Lucia, and I hope opportunities will materialize soon for the benefit of our two countries.”
Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy expressed appreciation on behalf of the Government of Saint Lucia, to the Government of France, for its sustained and generous contribution to the island’s socio-economic and cultural development in areas such as health, security, culture, education, integration and tourism.
