Alleged woman beater walks free

Sherwin Charles of Sunbilt walked out of court on Friday a lucky man because of prosecutors’ lack of readiness.

Accused of assaulting the mother of his child, Ursline Popo, of the same area, Charles faced possible incarceration and stiff fines but was placed on a two-year bond or $1,000 fine.

The magistrate also stipulated parenting classes out of concern for the type of role model Charles was being to his child.
