UPDATED: Injured passenger in Mon Repos accident identified

(SNO) – Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident along the highway in Mon Repos, Micoud on Saturday evening that has left at least one person nursing injuries, according to law enforcement sources.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Merlisa Louisy, a resident of Anse Ger, Desruisseaux in Micoud, who was transported to St. Jude Hospital by ambulance. Her medical status was not immediately available.

The injuries resulted from a collision between a minibus and a car, about 7:35 p.m.

Louisy was reportedly a passenger on the bus.

  1. I think that's like 5 or more accidents involving mini buses or taxi drivers which end up serious or with fatalities. When the 2 youngsters dies there were talk shows and cry about young drivers etc. Why is no one saying anything about those min bus and taxi drivers? How many of us have not experienced those bus drivers driving recklessly.? Why is the Chief Transport Officer, Traffic Dept. not making a public out cry about those bus drivers? Why is no one saying let's start to look at the Driving School Instructors and what they teaching? SMH Why are not calling for speed bumps in Mon Repos, Savannes Bay or blaming Infrastructure like they normally do and say no signs? The Head of Traffic, Transport all need to be fired and get ppl who are knowledgeable and serious about Road Safety.
