Several people were reportedly injured when two cars collided on the Vieux Fort-Laborie Highway in Sapphire, Laborie last Friday evening, Oct. 9, 2015

A black Chevy Spark collided with a white car at around 9 p.m., an eyewitness told St. Lucia News Online (SNO).

The driver of the black car has been identified as 47-year-old Charleston St. Valle, alias Opossum, a truck driver from a Babonneau address, a relative told SNO.

St. Valle, who was the lone occupant, sustained head injuries and was treated at St. Jude Hospital in Vieux Fort, and discharged, the relative added.

SNO understands that several people were on the white car at the time of the accident, but the condition of the occupants are not known at this time.
