The driver injured in this morning’s accident on the Bexon Highway has been identified as a former commissioner of police.
Cuthbert D. Phillips, who served as commissioner from 1982 to 1988, was treated for minor injuries at Tapion Hospital.
The 71-year-old reportedly sustained a laceration to the head and “a couple other body blows”, according to a reliable source. He was discharged from hospital.
Reports are that a pickup driven by Phillips collided with a car around 12 noon.
It is believed that the car was exiting a secondary road when it collided with the pickup on the main road. The secondary road leads to Ferrands Estate.
