OUTER RAIN BANDS AHEAD OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WILL BEGIN AFFECTING THE LESSER ANTILLES FROM TOMORROW MORNING.

AT 5:00 PM TODAY, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.6 DEGREES NORTH, LONGITUDE 51.3 DEGREES WEST WHICH IS ABOUT 650 MILES OR 1047 KILOMETERS EAST OF SAINT LUCIA. ISAAC IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 17 MPH OR 28 KM/H AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. ON THIS FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF ISAAC IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE LESSER ANTILLES, NEAR DOMINICA ON THURSDAY AND CONTINUE INTO THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA BY THE WEEKEND.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 70 MPH OR 110 KM/H WITH HIGHER GUSTS. ISAAC IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR HURRICANE STRENGTH WHEN IT MOVES THROUGH THE CENTRAL LESSER ANTILLES, WITH SOME WEAKENING FORECAST AFTERWARD ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

A HURRICANE WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR GUADELOUPE, MARTINIQUE AND DOMINICA AND A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ANTIGUA, MONTSERRAT AND ST. KITTS AND NEVIS.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR SAINT LUCIA, HOWEVER RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM.

AT 5:00 PM TODAY, THE CENTER OF MAJOR HURRICANE FLORENCE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.5 DEGREES NORTH, LONGITUDE 67.1 DEGREES WEST OVER THE NORTHWESTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC. THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHWESTWARD TOWARD THE EASTERN COAST OF THE UNITED STATES DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS. FLORENCE POSES NO THREAT TO SAINT LUCIA AND THE REST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.

AT 5:00 PM TODAY, THE CENTER OF HURRICANE HELENE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 17.2 DEGREES NORTH, LONGITUDE 34.9 DEGREES WEST OVER THE EASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC. THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN OVER THE OPEN ATLANTIC WATERS DURING ITS LIFE CYCLE AND POSE NO THREAT TO SAINT LUCIA AND THE REST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.
