4G boys bring home the victory!

PRESS RELEASE – The superfast LIME 4G Boys are proving to be a tough team to beat in the Inter-Commercial Futsal Competition after defeating one of the top teams in the tournament, The Ministry of Education, in a nail-biting encounter on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility.

One of the largest crowds to date turned out for the match, with supporters of both sides rooting for their respective teams. At the forty minute mark, the teams were tied at 3-3.

They battled on into overtime, with players on both teams displaying some deft football skills and the crowd going wild as the game went down to the wire.

By the end of the 10 minutes of overtime, LIME and Ministry of Education were still neck-and-neck, now at 4-4 and were forced to settle for a penalty shootout.

At the end of it the 4G Boys emerged victorious with 1 penalty ahead of their challengers, 4-3.

Through it all, the Ministry of Education team put on a great performance but there was no mistaking the tenacity and power of the 4G Boys who held their own and ultimately sealed their victory with some excellent team work.

This is their third successive win in the tournament. In previous games they defeated Lazy Lagoon 4-3 and 1st National Bank also 4-3. Needless to say the 4G Boys came in for high praise from their supporters, especially their colleagues at LIME.

“On behalf of LIME, I wish to congratulate the 4G Boys on their fantastic victory,” said LIME CEO, Geraldine Pitt. “This was a confidence-boosting experience for our boys and the result of their skill, teamwork and determination, which is a reflection of our culture at LIME. The team has been playing exceptionally well and we remain proud of their performance. We say a big thank you to each player as they continue to give their all to represent every one of us at LIME,” Ms Pitt added.

She also commended Chamber of Commerce for this initiative and the other teams for their efforts and for the “incredible camaraderie” amongst the players.

The 4G Boys’ next game against St. Lucia Distillers on Friday, April 17, 2015, will determine their place in the finals and is one of the tournament’s most anticipated matches.
