Death toll rises to 31 in Dominica; 21 persons still missing

Dominica News Online – Eleven more bodies have been retrieved, while 21 are still missing following a severe pounding the country received from Tropical Storm Erika which affected the island on August 27, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has said.

In earlier reports he announced that 20 persons were confirmed dead, bringing the total to 31.

According to him, the 21 include residents of Petite Savanne, three from Bath Estate, three from Coulibistrie, one from Delices and one from Castle Bruce.

He continued, “I have been told that two French nationals are also missing.”

“Obviously the numbers will change…,” he stated.
