UPDATED: Police officer among 2 injured in Castries stabbing

Two men including a police officer sustained stab wounds in Bisee, Castries on Thursday, April 17.

Ian James, a police officer attached to the ports, was stabbed along with his cousin. Both men have been since been treated and released from hospital.

Reports are that about 10:30 p.m., the officer’s cousin and another man got into an argument. It is further reported that the officer attempted to quell the situation between the two men when another man stabbed him in the back.

After the officer fell, the attacker proceeded to stab his cousin then fled with the other man in a vehicle.

At least two persons are assisting police with the investigation but no one has been arrested.

SNO has also received reports of a stabbing incident at the Saltibus bus stop in Vieux Fort on Friday morning involving two males. No further details available on this incident.
