2 arrested for dangerous weapon, marijuana in separate incidents
Police conducting a routine search.

Routine patrol by Micoud police officers on November 6 resulted in two men being arrested.

Lindon Hippolyte, 23, of Anse Ger, Desruisseaux was arrested and charged for being armed with a dangerous weapon, a four-inch long knife, while Lucas Leonce, 28, of Ti Rocher, Micoud were arrested for possession of marijuana.

Hippolyte

At about 7:55 am, police officers were on patrol on the Anse Ger, Desruisseaux main road at the intersection of Anse Ger Secondary School when Hippolyte was searched and the knife was found.

According to police, the area Hippolyte was spotted is a favourite hangout spot near the secondary school for young men “where they smoke marijuana, drink alcohol and intercept the school children, offering them sale of cigarette and jewelry”.

Leonce

At about 8:15 am, officers were travelling along the Ti Rocher  main road when they came across Leonce walking along the Ti-Rocher main road smoking marijuana “at close proximity to school children walking along the Ti-Rocher main road heading to the Ti-Rocher combined school”.

He was arrested and escorted to the Micoud Police Station.
