15 St. Lucian students awarded Taiwan scholarships

taiwan-scholarships-study0The 2017 Taiwan Scholarship Awarding Ceremony will be held jointly by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development, Saint Lucia on 14th July Friday, 2:30 p.m. at the Orchid Center, Union.

This year, a total of 184 Saint Lucian students applied for Taiwanese scholarships offered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), International Cooperation Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF), and I-Shou University School of Medicine.

They competed with thousands of applicants from all over the world. After a rigid screening and reviewing process, 15 Saint Lucian applicants are granted scholarships.

Over the past nine years, 149 Saint Lucian students have been granted different scholarship programs offered by the Taiwanese Government. Presently, there are 67 Saint Lucian students studying in Taiwan.

The Embassy congratulates all the 2017 scholarship awardees and would like to invite the awardees, their parents and friends, and the media to attend the Awarding Ceremony.

  1. I guess no break for the poor even though some of them are straight A students. Needless to say, that I'm very disappointed with the list.
