Homicide #15 this year was confirmed following the post mortem examination on the body of Gregory Philip, a resident of New Development, Soufriere.

The examination, conducted on Monday, June 4, 2018 by Dr. Wayne Felicien, revealed that Philip, also known as ‘Checkie’ or ’Chucky’, died of pulmonary hemorrhage, secondary to neck fracture, police said.

Philip’s death was branded a “suspicious death” after police received reports that he fell during a domestic dispute in Cressland, Soufriere on Saturday, June 2, around 9 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the Etangs Wellness Centre by a medical practitioner, police said.

One person was reportedly in custody in connection with the incident. Our newsroom is unable to say at this time if the person is still in custody.

  1. All of these incidents occurred because of people mindset. They Believe your life belongs to them. The people themselves have to be blamed for the crime in this country and nothing else. Some can humble or accept they are wrong whilst others always want to show they are the bigger one thru crime. Hell is alive for sure. No instrument, no equipment, nothing solid or liquid, no weapon, no spoken word or action is going to hell except he physical body, human bodies. I pray persons would try to think positively before taking negative action.
