  3. Not surprised! I believe that unless measures are put in place to address parental accountability this situation will escalate. Parents once again must pull their weight and raise their kids properly and instill values, values that were once used by our elders. I do understand that very often parents have to work the midnight shift however, if these deep rooted values are taught then kids would be trained to behave in a certain manner when parents are away. I would like to see our gov't create programs to help our parents to be more equip to raise their kids properly. Parents should not depend totally on the schools to instill discipline. Honestly, BTC will be a vacation for this boy, i think he needs other counseling besides just what he is going to get at BTC.

  4. At 10:45 pm a 13 year old should not be out on the streets. I am saddened by this because I am familiar with this child and I realized that he was taking the wrong path. Although being he was being spoken to very frequently about his behaviour and attitude I guess he had another agenda. Sometimes when students are being spoken to they figure out that you are against them. Parents please instill morals and values into your children. Let them know that they should not be jealous of what others have, neither should they crave for worldly possessions. Pray with them and for them.

  8. I know that kid...was in an altercation once with him...silly little boy just doesn't know...his parents are too busy making money so its the other members who get to check on him...and they do so negatively...not surprised he had a gun...could be his brother or cousins own...don't blame the environment because even in the lords house got killings going on...blame the parents for neglecting the kid and expecting cousins brothers sisters and grandma to raise him right...I guess he got a pretty long vacation for the while there...but the law should deliver harsher penalties to such minors...

  9. The 300 hours of community service will give him a feeling of what hard time is for such stupidity and 2 years in the training center is just extra so he will see what it is to be under heavy manners

  10. What is this nonsense I am reading. 13 years old with a firearm? Only 18 months? No we should reconsider 13 divided by 2 (him and the illegal firearm) = 6.5 years Its time to make a statement in the country so these youth. It sounds harsh I agree so let's introduce 300 hours of community service and 2 years instead. Teach them a lesson.

  11. I really think that the government should pass a law stating that parents should be finedor jailed for kids playing truancy so all those kids won't find themselves in those situations when it isn't their fault.I also believe that St.lucia should have had an unwritten constitution.

  12. after i send him to jail and not a training center i would find the parents both of them and put them there as-well because that child didn't just get up a morning and do it he has been doing it long before. so where were his parents all before? what about a 13 yr old child cant be corrected unless they have raised him this way all his life smh

  13. Just ripping the rewards of "Mothers and teachers shouldn't beat, parents fighting with teachers when their kids get corrected." Its not nice having to serve time so young. Who are his friends, what kind of environment is he living in, where are his parents?

  14. It's important to note that the Boy because he was only 13 years old at the time of the offence could only be COMMITED but not SENTENCED to the Boys Training Centre.

  15. At 13 years, he's so advance, y send him to family court, send him backside to the magistrate court, cause in the longer run that's where he'll be going anyway. Boys training center should not be for serious natures like this.
