Shotokan Week begins Sunday, October 18

SKIF-SLU logo 2PRESS RELEASE – Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF) St. Lucia, will be hosting its annual week of activities dubbed “Shotokan Week” beginning Sunday the 18th October.

It is a week where the affiliate schools across the island come together to host various activities to raise the awareness of this traditional style of martial arts.

The calendar of activities for this year’s Shotokan Week is as follows:

Sunday 18th. Health Walk time start 6.00 am – From Mega J to SKIF-Headquarters (Corinth) via Union/Grand Riviere.

Monday 19th. Black and Brown belts training Zanshin Karate Dojo from 6 to 8.00pm

Tuesday 20th. Parents /Guardians night training at each respective SKIF affiliate school from 5.30 to 7.00 pm

Wednesday 21st. Lecture Night. Topic: The value of karate-do in personal and national development by Sensei Ezra Jn. Baptiste (5th Dan). From 6 to 7.30 pm at the Entrepot Human Resource Center

Thursday 22nd. Senseis Clash (in house Kata/Forms Competition) from 5.30 to 7.30 pm at Zanshin Karate Dojo

Friday 23rd Karaoke and Games night from 6 to 9.00 pm at Zanshin Karate Dojo

Saturday 24th Road show to Budoshin Karate dojo – Choisuel. Transportation depart Derek Walcott Square near library at 12.00 bus fare $25.00 per student.
