​​Flow supports fun walk to promote national unity

unnamed-3PRESS RELEASE – Calling all Saint Lucian patriots, health-and-fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to celebrate Independence Day in a fun-filled and exciting way!

The Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School is holding its annual Independence Day Fun Walk, in celebration of Saint Lucia’s 38th Independence Anniversary and all and sundry are invited to come and join the fun.

The walk is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, Independence Day. Saint Lucia and the Caribbean’s leading quad play telecom provider is partnering with the school for the event. Along with a cash contribution, Flow is helping to promote the event to its staff and the general public via the company’s live radio programmes.

The walk starts at 6:30 a.m. It sets off from the Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School grounds, heads up to Grande Riviere and through Corinth and continues down to Marisule and Choc and ends back at the school. The planned route should take no more than an hour to complete. The registration fee is $5 or $20 inclusive of a T-shirt and water bottle or a bag. Breakfast will be on sale. In line with the theme of this year’s Independence Day commemoration, ‘I am Saint Lucian,’ the event aims to bring children and adults together in a glorious outpouring of national pride as they walk as one to underscore the need for togetherness and national unity.

Ann-Marie James of the Parent-Teachers Association said: “The Fun Walk gives us the opportunity to celebrate the freedom to live independently in our country and show how proud we are to be Saint Lucian, while enjoying each other’s company. We deeply appreciate the support we have received from Flow, which will assist us greatly with the organization of the event. We invite people of all ages and fitness levels to get together with family, friends and colleagues and come join the fun and help make this a great community event.”
