    UPDATE: WASCO employee dies after vehicular accident

    An employee of the Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) has become the second road fatality victim of 2013.

    Police sources have confirmed that motorcyclist Sherwin Maynard aka Poleman of Caye Mange, Gros Islet died following a collision with a white Toyota Mark II (registration #60030 driven by Errol Isaac of Summersdale at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 on the Gros Islet Highway (in the vicinity of the Aquatics Centre).

    Police said Maynard was transported to Victoria Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

    Maynard is the second road fatality since the start of the year.

    On Sunday, February 10, 2013 at about 9:25 pm, officers attached to the Micoud Police Station responded to a report of a serious vehicular accident which occurred on the Micoud Highway. On arrival, they noticed a white Toyota Corolla motor car, registration number PD1700, had come into contact with a utility pole off the left side of the road.

    The driver of that vehicle was later identified as 29-year-old Wayne Francis aka ‘Like a Boss’ of New Extension, Micoud. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Francis was transported to St. Jude’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
