Adding to the existing discount specials on tourism-related products and services for the summer, the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) is rolling out its Staycation/Summerlicious programme which will further offer “unbeatable tailor-made packages.”
The association said the promotions, which are in its fourth year, are geared predominantly at locals in order to allow them “to sample the warmth and internationally-recognised ‘excellence of service’ delivered by award-winning resorts across Saint Lucia at the best prices compared to anytime in the year”.
The Staycation/Summerlicious will extend through the months of July, August and September and will involve specials on spa treatments, dining, hotel stay from as low as $40 per night, tours and attractions and some “incredible all-inclusive deals”.
The newly introduced Summerlicious element was conceptualized by the association to expose locals and visitors to the diversity of Saint Lucian cuisine as influenced by Afro, European, French and Caribbean heritage, a press release said.
“Summerlicious features reduced prix fixe (fixed price) lunch and dinner summer menus at some of the finest restaurants island-wide. Patrons can sample a two course lunch for EC$35-$65 and a three-course dinner from EC$60-$145,” the release added.
Tourism Director Louis Lewis said that service providers are increasingly expressing interest in participating in the Staycation programme.
“It is noteworthy to see the excitement amongst the hotels, restaurants, sites, attractions and spas to these two programs as we work together to execute these exciting summer promotions. The fact that more and more of our tourism partners are eager to participate in the promotions is testament to their success and the value they place on the on-island clientele,” he said.
Meanwhile, SLHTA’s Executive Vice President Noorani Azeez said: “We look forward to an enticing, creative and alluring season with these two summer promotions. Although a relatively new concept to Saint Lucia, our hoteliers and restaurateurs have been eagerly anticipating this as another avenue to market their establishments to locals and invite them to indulge in their services.”
