Seven St. Lucian men were rescued in Martinique, after a fishing vessel in which they were traveling, toppled over.

The ‘near-death’ incident occurred on Wednesday May 19.

The Martinique Regional Coast Guard also rescued one of the men.

The fishing vessel named “Love”, turned over, en route to Martinique, and the fishermen are said to be from the Dennery Valley.

Six of the men returned to St. Lucia yesterday, Wednesday with the exception of Marcus Mathurin, who is currently nursing an injury at a hospital in Martinique.
