The Boys Training Center (BTC) has again denied foul reports regarding that institution.

The front page story of a local newspaper reported last week that a pre-teen ward was brutally assaulted by two older wards.

The newspaper also reported that CAFRA represented Flavia Cherry informed them that the pre-teen, said to be about age 10 or 11 last Thursday at the “junior male detention center”.

RSL has learnt that the BTC will respond to the report later today via press release.

An official from the Center, who did not yet want to go on record described the report as “erroneous, callous and false”.

The BTC has been the subject of criticism and alarming allegations over the past years.

However measures are being put in place to upgrade the Center-and to hopefully earn a better image in the eyes of society.

For instance, a new wing is currently being built to separate the wards who are at the Center for care and protection from those who have committed criminal offenses.

The BTC has also beefed up security, and has done some restructuring; the Center continues to provide training for staff. The wards also receive counseling and receive skills training in various areas such as computer, auto-mechanics, agriculture and woodwork.
